01 / THE INDUSTRY CHALLENGE

The High Cost of Untreated Process Water

Coffee wet processing is highly water-intensive. Without effective wastewater treatment, washing stations often discharge acidic, organic-rich wastewater into nearby rivers.

The resulting pollution depletes oxygen, damages aquatic ecosystems, promotes the growth of harmful microorganisms, and threatens the health and well-being of local communities.

FIG 1.0 —  UNTREATED EFFLUENT RUNOFF

95%

INFRASTRUCTURE DEFICIT

Many coffee washing stations in producing countries have limited or no dedicated wastewater treatment infrastructure, relying on ponds or direct discharge depending on local practices.

pH 3.8–4.5

CORROSIVE ACIDITY

Organic sugars ferment rapidly in discharge basins, driving down pH levels and rendering toxic water to local aquatic life.

20,000 mg/L

BIOLOGICAL OXYGEN DEMAND

Extremely high organic pollution. Coffee wastewater can contain Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) levels hundreds of times higher than those considered safe for discharge, rapidly depleting oxygen in rivers and threatening aquatic life.

57–99%

CARBON HOTSPOT

Scientific studies show untreated wastewater accounts for 57–99% of greenhouse gas emissions during wet coffee processing, making it the industry's largest emissions hotspot before green coffee leaves the washing station.

02 / ENGINEERING PRINCIPLES

Designed for the Field. Built to Scale.

01 // OPERATIONAL SIMPLICITY

Simple

Designed for remote deployments with minimal infrastructure. Our systems are easy to operate, requiring little technical training and eliminating the need for complex chemical dosing or highly sensitive mechanical components.

ZERO-FRICTION MAINTENANCE →

02 // SCALABLE ARCHITECTURE

Modular

From small cooperatives to massive industrial exporters. Scalable containerized systems expand easily with processing volumes, adapting dynamically to peak harvest seasons.

PLUG-AND-PLAY INTEGRATION →

03 // CLOSED LOOP DESIGN

Circular

Engineered with reusable and regenerable filtration media. Spent filtration materials can be either regenerated or safely composted/ repurposed, aligning with global circular economy standards.

SUSTAINABLE LIFECYCLE →
